From 1 January 2017 onwards, our DSM colleague, Peter Quaedflieg, has joined the DSM coordination team and will support Rob Meier and Martin Schürmann on both the ROBOX content as well as project management aspects. Peter (born 1965) studied Chemical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology where in 1988 he obtained his M.Sc. degree. In 1993, he obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Leiden with Prof. Jacques van Boom on the organic synthesis of modified DNA and RNA. He then joined DSM where he has held several R&D positions, including managing the DSM Biocatalysis group for several years. From 2011 onwards Peter became Principal Scientist and manages the DSM Organic Chemistry/Flow Chemistry group. In 2012 he co-founded the spin-off company Enzypep, dealing with industrial chemo-enzymatic peptide synthesis, where he is CSO. Besides amino acid and peptide chemistry, Peter’s research interests are chemical process development and scale-up, chiral technologies and applied biocatalysis. Peter is (co)-author of over 60 publications and (co-)inventor of over 40 patents.
Peter is looking forward to meeting the ROBOX team in person at the ROBOX Aachen meeting in March!
